Cats Home Comforts – Cat Sitting Terms and Conditions (UK)

1. Definitions
“Cat Sitter” refers to Cats Home Comforts.
“Owner” refers to the person booking the service.
“Services” refers to cat sitting, feeding, visits, and any agreed care.

2. Booking & Payment

  • Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of agreed deposit/payment.

  • A 20% non refundable deposit is required upon booking to secure your space.

  • Full payment is due  48 hours before visits begin .

  • Payments can be made via  bank transfer.

  • Late payments may incur additional charges.

3. Cancellations

  • Short-notice cancellations may be charged up to 100%

  • No refunds for early return or shortened bookings once services have started.

4. Access to Property

  • The Owner must provide safe and secure access (keys, alarm codes, instructions).

  • Keys will be handled securely and returned as agreed.

  • The Cat Sitter is not responsible for any loss due to faulty locks or security systems.

4a. Key Handling

  • Keys may be retained securely by Cats Home Comforts for future bookings unless otherwise requested.

  • A key collection and/or return fee of £3 may apply.

  • If keys are lost or damaged while in the Cat Sitter’s care, Cats Home Comforts will cover the reasonable cost of replacement keys only. The Cat Sitter will not be liable for locksmith services, lock replacements, or consequential losses unless due to negligence.

  • If the Cat Sitter is unable to gain access to the property due to incorrect or non-functioning keys, the full visit fee will still be charged.

  • The Owner agrees to ensure that all keys provided are tested and working prior to the booking start date.

5. Pet Care & Welfare

  • The Cat Sitter will provide care to a professional standard and follow instructions given by the Owner.

  • The Owner must provide sufficient food, litter, medication, and supplies.

  • The Owner confirms that the cat(s) are in good health unless disclosed otherwise.

  • Any behavioural issues (e.g. aggression) must be disclosed in advance.

6. Veterinary Care & Emergencies

  • The Owner authorises the Cat Sitter to seek veterinary treatment if necessary.

  • The Cat Sitter will attempt to contact the Owner first.

  • In an emergency, treatment will be sought from a registered veterinary practice.

  • All veterinary fees and associated costs are the Owner’s responsibility.

7. Liability

  • The Cat Sitter holds appropriate insurance but shall not be liable for:

    • Pre-existing health conditions

    • Illness, injury, or death occurring outside of negligence

    • Loss or damage to property unless caused by proven negligence

8. Insurance

  • The Cat Sitter is insured with Protectivity.

  • The Owner is responsible for maintaining pet insurance if desired.

9. Health & Safety

  • The Owner must ensure the home environment is safe.

10. Photos & Updates

  • The Cat Sitter may send updates/photos during visits.

  • Photos may be used for marketing unless the Owner requests otherwise in writing.

11. Data Protection

  • Personal data will be handled in accordance with UK GDPR.

  • Information will only be used for providing services and will not be shared without consent.

Agreement

By booking services, the Owner confirms they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
